Mind The Abstract is a free weekly newsletter that summarizes interesting arXiv papers, selected and summarizied with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and human review. We aim to inform and engage our subscribers with accessible insights into academic research. You may subscribe to the Service directly via our website or by authenticating through your Google, GitHub, or X account, which allows us to retrieve your email address for subscription purposes. We use Google, GitHub, and X API data solely to retrieve your email address for subscription purposes. The Service is provided to you by the operator of Mind The Abstract ('we', 'us', or 'our').

• Subscription: By providing your email address through our website subscription form or by authenticating via your Google, GitHub, or X account, you consent to receive our weekly newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.
• Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to subscribe. By subscribing, you confirm you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm you have parental consent to subscribe.

• arXiv Papers: Our newsletter includes summaries of papers from arXiv. We do not own these papers; they belong to their original authors. Links to arXiv are provided for reference and attribution, per arXiv's open-access terms.
• Summaries: AI helps generate initial summaries, which we review and refine. Any human-edited summaries are our original work and may not be reproduced without permission. Pure AI-generated content is provided "as is" without copyright claims.
• Your use: You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our newsletter content for commercial purposes without our written consent. You may share newsletter content for non-commercial personal use, provided you include attribution and a link to the Service.

We offer a "Refer a Friend" feature where you can submit a friend's email to invite them to subscribe to the Service. Referred emails are used solely for the purpose of sending a one-time invitation to create new subscribers. If the referred friend does not subscribe, we will not contact them again and will delete their email within 30 days.

You agree to:

• Submit only email addresses of individuals who have given prior consent to receive such invitations.
• Comply with applicable anti-spam laws, such as the CAN-SPAM Act.
• Refer no more than three friends to prevent abuse.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you misuse this feature.

• You may not use the Service to harass, spam, or harm others, or to scrape or misuse our content. We monitor email delivery, including bounces and complaints, using Mailgun tools to maintain a high-quality subscriber experience.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your subscription if you violate these Terms.

• Accuracy: We strive to make summaries accurate but can't guarantee perfection. AI and human errors may occur. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We strive to provide a reliable Service but cannot guarantee it will meet all your expectations or desired outcomes.
• Availability: We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that any part of the Service will always work, be available, or be accessible at any particular time.

Summaries are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for academic, professional, or legal decisions. Always consult the original arXiv papers for authoritative information.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages (direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, punitive, otherwise) arising from your use of the Service, including inaccuracies in summaries or interruptions in delivery.

• You can stop using the Service by unsubscribing anytime.
• We may terminate your access at our discretion, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
• Termination does not affect provisions that survive by their nature, such as indemnity and intellectual property.

We may update these Terms as needed. The latest version will be posted on our Terms of Service page with the "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms. We will notify subscribers of material changes to these Terms via email or a notice on our website at least seven days before they take effect.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mind The Abstract and its owners, officers, affiliates, agents, licensors, and partners harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

• your breach of these Terms;
• your unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of Mind The Abstract content;
• your negligence or willful misconduct; or
• your violation of any third-party right, including any copyright or contractual right.

Mind The Abstract may, at its discretion, assume the defense of any claim, and you agree to reimburse reasonable costs and expenses, including attorneys' fees. This indemnification obligation will survive these Terms and your use of the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Santa Clara County, California, under the American Arbitration Association's rules, except where prohibited by law. If arbitration is not permitted, disputes will be resolved in courts located in Santa Clara County, California.

• Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Mind The Abstract, superseding any prior agreements.
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms will not be construed as a waiver of any provision or right.
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights at our discretion.
• Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters or technical outages.
• Survival: Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., indemnity, intellectual property, limitation of liability) will remain in effect after termination.
